Pirate Nightmares Suck.

Early this morning, I woke up today from a nightmare- it involved ravaging pirates, an emaciated captured woman, and bombs- all in my apartment.

I woke up with "Masters of War" stuck in my head and it all was so heavy I couldn't go back to sleep.

I turned on some "Frasier" then went to get something to eat and noticed I was cold. I remembered Ami didn't want a blanket last night so I checked on her. She seemed slightly chilly, I put a light blanket on her but she woke up.

I snuggled with her.

She wasn't going back to sleep so I told her I had a nightmare and I felt better now that I was holding her.
She's a very good listener.

We snuggled a bit more.  I was trying to sleep and she was telling me about the flower she found on the collar of her pajamas... and then something about her pillow... then something about something else and so on.

She eventually let me sleep a bit.

She eventually asked me if she could go see Papa.

Absolutely!

She and Papa made pancakes again.  Ami poured and flipped them! She also dressed herself today, too.

So big...

We've been talking about describing words like 'big' and 'tiny' as well as, 'next to' and 'behind.'

I know right now I haven't been giving my 100% to her and I feel really guilty.  Since I've recognized it, I've gotten better, and I have been giving her more hugs and kisses. I've also been trying to be more imaginative w her, although my head is in the clouds about entirely different imaginations.

She's so beautiful.

Pancakes For a Lovely Thursday Morning.

Yummy pancakes and delicious rock and roll for breakfast!

While making pancakes, Ami and I listened to a little Audio Galaxy decided tunes. It included the Who, Tori Amos, Talking Heads, Bad Brains, and Tom Waits.

I used a recipe from the Power Foods book. So far, this one is my FAVORITE pancake recipe.
It's called Pecan Pancakes with Mixed Berry Compote but I omitted the pecans (for Ami- although I probably could have popped them in the food processor so she wouldn't realize they were in there) and didn't have enough berries to make a compote. Of course I used the white whole wheat flour instead of all purpose, and used kefir instead of yogurt. I added a little cinnamon as well as vanilla and chocolate extracts.
Replacing the compote for the topping, I used a super foods berry spread.
I think she ate 4 whole bitty pancakes.

They were soft, yummy and deceivingly hearty.

Ollie at 28 weeks.

OMG.

I had leftover cake and an Epson salt/tea tree oil/sweet basil bath last night. It was awesome.
I'm also thinking about naming the lotions I make 'It's Punk.'

This morning I made cherry almond pancakes.
I used Isa's Perfect Pancake recipe, halved, and added about two handfuls of chopped cherries and a handful of sliced almonds.
Perfect Pancakes

The finished crayons we melted together!  Revived and pretty.

Ami helped Papa draw on my belly for this week!  She had so much fun, the next day she asked to do it again.

In a little bit, we're going to Wegman's to try some BLK water and get some more jojoba oil for more lotions. Then we're going to Target to get some containers.

I work today so I'll drop of Ami and go to work.  I really miss teaching, though. I am grateful for the desk job, it's just so different.
