The Outside is for the Birds.

Yesterday we stayed inside because the heat index was through the roof.
Today is no different.

We had cereal for breakfast.  Ami had her Strawberry Fields and I had my U.
We patiently waited for Papa to wake up to go to the library.

While we waited, we put together her play huts.  She wanted a steering wheel for her car so I improvised with the ship wheel.  It was ok for a couple of seconds...

Eating lunch. Oatmeal w dried fruit.  Ami is a bottomless pit today.

We hung out at the pet store.

These fish were awesome!  They are Dinosar Bichir.

These were awesome, too!!! They were Black Ghost Knife.  Unfortunately, both species were not for beginners :(

We ate an early dinner of steamed veggies w Goddess dressing, the last of the strawberries and whole wheat linguine and spaghetti sauce.

As a treat, we ate in Ami's room...

While she has been artsy fartsying around, Ami has been talking to this unicorn, lifting it up to the easel and asking it if her drawings are cool.

I also just got a call that my marching band design is going to be turned into a flag, So that's kind of nice to hear.

My guitar lesson moved to Friday, so I think Ami and I are going to maybe make some cookies, take a bubble bath and chill out for the rest of the evening.

When Papa gets home, he's going to draw on my belly for a 26 week progression shot. I'm pretty excited...

The maintenance guy got a kick out of Ami's question, "What are you doing, Guy?"
Of course she said it over and over which is definitely her new thing to do.
Being patient and creative while answering the same question differently every time can get exhausting.

The good news, our A.C. is working at the moment.
The bad news, we might need a new unit. This depends on whether or not there is a Freon leak.  I'm thinking there is a Freon leak because I'm sure they put Freon in there quite recently.
I told that to the new maintenance guy amongst other things like, "Because the unit freezes then defrosts, it leaks and I have towels down, but they get soaked and I'm sure there is damage to the particle board or whatever is laid down there in the closet, " and, "I think the other maintenance guy just put Freon in like a month ago," as well as when he said it's good to not wait the 6 months for them to come out but to change the filter every month or two months I said, "Yeah, we've ventured in that before but the filter is a special order size," but he just wasn't listening.  I gave him lots of good information.  I dislike him already... Stupid new maintenance guy.

On a more fun note, I've been collecting recipes!

My gramma suggested I do that and... duh.  yeah, that makes sense. I'm doing it Meade composition notebook by hand style like Ana Pascal so...  It makes me want to join a weekly evil-conspiracy and needle point group.

Ami's been picking off googly eyes... little bugger.

And... this is just darn cute-

Strawberry Soup Forever

In my head, Duc is saying, "Thisisgoodfuckingsoup,Man."

Strawberry soup and a peanut butter strawberry jelly sandwich, what???

This is the first time I've made strawberry soup.  I used a pint of strawberries, 2 cups of half and half, 1 1/2 cups of plain fat free greek strained yogurt, 3/4 cup of powdered sugar and 2 tbsp of white balsamic vinegar.

I want to have a never ending supply.

Earlier Ami and I went to the water park again.
We actually stayed for 2 or so hours. That's a record for us (because of me. My crowd/water/outside tolerance is really low).
I brought a Teriyaki Primal Strip (I guess just for me because Ami didn't want any) and some crispy cracked pepper crackers.  Dude, she loves these crackers.  Which isn't too bad because they actually have some good stuff in them.

The water park instantly wore her out.
I wish I could get some swimming action shots. She submerged her shoulders in the water today and got acclimated the quickest yet.
Maybe if I can persuade Mike to join us, I can take some swimming Ami pictures.

We had band practice tonight and wrote a new song. We didn't get to play it all together, though.
Maybe next week we'll write another one.  Busting them out.

On a solo (I guess) note, I wrote most of a new song.
I've been surprised with my writing direction.  This new song is nothing I listen to, I think and it feels so homey and easy.
I really like it.

I stole these beach photos from my mom's phone.
