Two More Weeks (!)

Ahh... sitting in bed w Mike looking at really, really bad cakes and listening to music is fabulous.

It's Sunday night.

The weekend went by pretty quickly.

Thursday morning, Ami dressed like this.

I told her to smile, which is why she's making this awesome face.

Marilee came and gave me a great report. Everything is perfect right now. I got my hemoglobin up, my platelets are super, I'm drinking enough water, and if Ollie is born now she'll be fine!  She's approximately 5 1/2 lbs!

After this good news, I was feeling pretty awesome.

Later on, Ami drew on her ball. It's one of her favorite things to do, if you haven't noticed- draw on stuff.

I also made some cupcake cones.

I made a grilled whole wheat, goat cheese, honey, basil sandwich.

What's eating my basil, Man? I'm bummed.

Then we went to the library and played with the puzzles.

On Friday, I had my chiropractor appointment which was pretty good. After that, though, I was pretty pooped and cranky.  Ami fought nap time and we were just both pretty cranky.
At around 4, Nina called and asked me if I wanted to go for a walk and I said yes.
Dude, one mile will kick my ass.

I was dying.

Ami asked if she could watch "Bob" and snuggle me and Nina on the big bed.
We did.

Then Nina left and Ami and I got ready for the Ladie's Showcase at the 909.
I thought it'd be really good for Ami. I knew it'd be quiet and she'd be able to move around.
Jenna was there to play/sing some songs and I knew Ami was going to love that.

Jenna ended up only playing in one song in the first set and we had to leave after that, which was a bummer.
Ami had fun, regardless. She was dancing and having just a really good time.
She saw Jenna and Jay and recognized Jenna's parents.

Here is Hailee and Laura.  Laura is freaking awesome. She was playing mandolin as well as guitar. It was neat seeing her fancied up. She's so granola, I love it.

This face Ami's making...   One of the ladies was singing that Alanis Morissette secret song from Jagged Little Pill.   Yeah, that one...That's why Ami is making that face.

It was a fun night.  Those ladies are nice and it was lots of fun hanging out w Jay and Jenna.  Ami was playing w them every chance she could get.

Papa didn't come home until late because he was playing poker over at Larry's, so Ami and I snuggled a little bit in the bed before she slept.
We've been reading Hungry, Hungry Caterpillar and pretending to hold the caterpillar and increasing it's weight and size as the book goes on.

Her imagination is expanding and it is so beautiful to watch.
We went over what we were doing when we wake up... sang Wheels on the Bus, Who's the Most Beautiful, and the ABCs out loud and in sign language.

She fought it for a bit... it was rough...

She was in a good mood when she woke up, though.
Papa, Ami, Larry, Gabby and Bean went for a walk in our neighborhood while I slept.

I made Ami oatmeal and did some laundry and dishes...

Papa went to work... Ami and I made Uncle Brandon a housewarming present of chocolate chocolate chocolate cookie mix in a jar.  I omitted the pecans because 1) I don't have any and 2) I wasn't sure if Brandon likes pecans.

I included in a smaller jar the oil and extracts so all he had to do was add milk.

Ami and I decorated the jars adding the instructions right on the jar so they wouldn't get lost.

Then I broke out the clay and made Jenna this little diddly w 'treasures' from Ami's bsby shower we've saved.

It's just decoupaged paper and clay on the bottom.

I didn't get a picture of the finished product. I braided embroidery floss to connect the pieces.

I want to say, in between every thing we did Saturday, Ami played with Play Doh.  She made me everything from ice cream to balls.

One time, she cut off a piece of Play Doh and gave it to me to 'eat.'  I said, 'Mmmmm that's delicious, what did you use in this?'
'Play Doh and a knife!'
'Right on, Babe!'

We were planning on seeing Jenna and Jay play at Kybecca but I was just too pooped.

We did see them this morning, though!
We ate brunch at Foode!

It was Jenna's birthday!

It was such a great day.
Birthday brunch at Foode, a little nap, new song at practice!  Oh!!!  and cake wrecks.  I'm still looking through the 600+ pages of awesome.

And I found this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mike said my head was gonna explode.

"I'm Like A Cheetah. A Fat Cheetah."

I decided to go to open mic.

This was just a thin fog covering me the entire day instead of a really heavy one. It's reassuring that I'm gaining confidence.

Ami and I went to Wegmans in the afternoon.
AudioGalaxy played Do You Realize as we were pulling up so we sat and listened to the whole song. Oh my gosh it's so beautiful.

This video is reminiscent of the fantasmic time we had at the show. WTF. I still have some confetti and probably will be buried w it.

I digress....

We had a little bite...

She had a piece of paper and marker and was making a grocery list- of stuff we were putting in the cart.

It was pretty awesome.

We got home and she took a nap as I got some housework done then Nina picked Ami up and they did their thing.

I practiced for open mic a little bit. I really think singing to Ami every bed and nap time has helped. I wanted my new song finished but it just didn't happen. I would have ended up singing the first verse twice.
I played Captain, The Tree Song, and Picture. I think it was the best time I've played all three, although I did mess up a bit.

Because the Lady Singers of Fredericksburg were promoting their showcase Friday, they created a bit of a mutiny- singing for everyone else. It ended up being the same ppl up there for most of the time. Which was fine because I signed up early and could leave anytime... also I got to see Jenna play guitar and cello and sing.

I found this awesome poster in the bathroom.
They are fucking serious.

A lot of lady singers sang so prettily... I am often very jealous of pretty things as I can't do pretty.

I don't do frills or fuss. I'm very straight forward.

That's why I didn't do gymnastics...

And why I power tumbled...

What ev.

"It's 72 degree inside your head- all the time!"

I stepped outside today to go to Amelie's gymnastics class and thought I was in Heaven.
72 delicious degrees hit my body and traveled in my mouth and through my lungs.
I said to Mike and Ami, we can do ANYTHING today!!!
I want to live some place where the weather is like this- all the time.

So, we went to gymnastics and Ami ran around. She played on the slide, the tumble trak, and walked on the beam. There were 6 plastic bowling pins set up at the end of a long velcro strip. She was supposed to log roll down and knock over the pins. As Miss Dawn was showing her how to do it, Ami soccer kicked the pins over.... I picked them up, she kicked them over again. Miss Dawn said, "It's like both her parents play in a rock and roll band or something."
Haha, I told her it wasn't MY fault!.. It kind of is.

They went up to the pit then down to the balloons.
It was a good time.

Miss Dawn gave her end of class stamps of Cookie Monster and Elmo.

On our way to the car she found some flowers and decided to frolic :)
This week I don't have to let Max out and I'm just not knowing what to do with myself. I base all my plans on going to King George at 12 and play w the dog until 1.

We drove up to the bank teller and Ami shouted, "Ice cream!!!"
Haha... I love this kid. I told her this was the bank, not McDonalds. After I put money in, I had a great plan to get lunch downtown at Soup and Taco for some vegetarian tamales and papusas. I would use my birthday gift certificate and get Mike some papusas, too.
We got there and AGHHh... I forgot they're closed Mondays. Instead, we decided to sit outside at Sammy T's. No one else was out there at the time, and luckily the ladies who later sat down didn't smoke.

I got my usual bean and grain burger, Ami got a grilled cheese. She ended up sitting on my lap which I totally embraced. It's not often she's snuggly. The perfect weather reflected our little moment.
After lunch, we ate some Sammy T's frozen yogurt. Just to let you know, this picture DOES NOT reflect her excitement.

When we were all done with downtown, we hopped in the car to make our way to the grocery store. During the ride, I was listening to the new song the Crypts wrote last night. Ami kept saying, "Again!" after each ending until she went to sleep. It was a few times.

This is me tickling the ol' ivories on Civil Servant Cyborg- the song we were rocking out to. I recorded the video on my phone the same time we recorded on the Mac. I was hoping it'd help me visually but nope.
It may, however, turn you on. So be aware.
I suggest hit play and close your eyes.

My mom sent me this picture when we were at band practice last night. They made a house out of the box her big girl car seat came in. They decorated it and ate in it :) Ami is eating spinach.

I dropped Ami off at Nina's house so I could go to work and right before I left, I took this video.

After work, I picked her up and went home. I was met by Mike who said there was going to be pizza waiting when I got home from open mic. Rad.
I uked it up at open mic and left as quickly.
I opened the apt door and saw Jenna on my couch watching House and a very pretty armoire.
