Photography Class

I had my first photography class with Stephen Graham.
We talked about the triangle of camera exposure: aperture, ISO, and shutter speed.

This is was our hand out.  It was our hand out exactly.

It makes me feel stunted that I'm going to a class for something that I can get off the internet, but I need the interaction.

Our homework is to take photos over the week and email him a few so he can hook his computer to a monitor for next class and we can go over our photographs.

After my class, I went to a roller derby rules meeting. There I got stuck in a ditch and got pulled out. I also brought chocolate cookies and salty oatmeal cookies. I met a red bone coon hound named Boomer.
I also tried to implement some info I learned from my class and took pictures.
I also took pictures at home...

We played when we got home. I made some food... you know, the usual ish.

Oh!  I made this grilled lemonade vodka spritzer which was really tasty.

I'm just exhausted now.  Mike is home.
Kids are in bed.
I'm going to watch some Don Juan DeMarco and eat some cookies.

Monster Rock

Practice was pretty good today.  A lot of the ladies had hangovers so the workout was pretty chill. I still am sore, though, and feeling really good.

Ami came and saw me and the girls skate wearing our gear. It helped her feel more comfortable wearing hers.

After we skated on the b ball courts, Ami and I played on the playground for a little while before it got unbearably chilly.  She met an older boy who gave orders... she was ok w that as she played follow the leader w him.

I think I like this.  I finished this little logo up tonight while eating Kettle Brand baked Hickory Honey BBQ chips. I want to get the salt and vinegar ones next.

Ami loves drawing and writing. Today she drew a 2 and a W with no prompts. She said, "I did it! I did it!" It was amazing.  In case you didn't know, 2 and W are her favorites.

There is a W in there. She decided to contain everything she drew in a belly. I like it.

Since she pooped in the potty a lot of times today, she could watch a movie. The movie she chose, mind you, was Groundhog Day. She went over to the DVDs and looked at them. She said, "Is this Groundhog Day?" while pointing to Lost in Translation. I said, "Close."

I put in the movie and we were watching it and Ami said, "Bob is in this!"

Time for bed, we snuggled, read and sang.

There wasn't any struggle tonight.  Ollie on the other hand.... was having a hard time. :(
It took forever to get her to sleep.

Roller Derby!!! And Music!!!

Ugh, finally an all girl roller derby team is starting around here.

I picked the colors green and yellow, to go with our old school tattoo theme.
I'm also drawing up the logo and will be in charge of drawing flyers.

I was gonna play around with Monster, but I think I'll just stick to Miss Fist as my derby name.

I really wanted to be a monster, though. I wanted to draw scales and spots and have fur.
I'm not doing typical roller girl sexy- I'm bored of it, honestly.

-sigh- Eddie Vedder wrote a really, really beautiful song that I wish I had written.
"I'll keep on healing all the scars that we've collected from the start. I'd rather this than live without you."

Here is another beautiful, sexy song involving Eddie Vedder and a ukulele

I've also been listening to Maia Vidal's Ep, Poison: 5 Rancid Songs That I Love

She's amazing.

I also got dropboxed Thurston Moore's Solo stuff, Crooked Fingers, j. mascis, and Karen Dalton.
I needed some new music at my feet.

I have 2 ukulele songs I have to write for...

I really was stagnant in my early twenties. I could have been doing everything I'm doing now... Having a baby really gave me a sense of empowerment and I know that I can do anything.

I just... gotta do it... and it doesn't have to be perfect.
I've learned that no one is permanent in their current state and we just have to be patient.

The End.
